Georgetown County Adult Education follows all district policies regarding student behavior. Adult Education students are expected to adhere to the rules outlined in the Regulations for Student Conduct. All violations will be dealt with accordingly, first by the classroom teacher and then by an administrator, who may use a variety of corrective actions. Failure to adhere to the administrator's corrective action will be viewed as a defiance of authority.

Regulations for Student Conduct

The following rules and regulations are considered top priority by the staff of adult education.  Any violation of these rules will require immediate action on the part of any staff member and could result in immediate removal of the student.

Absolutely no illegal drugs or weapons are allowed on campus.

Tobacco use is not permitted on the campus, including the parking lot.

No loitering is allowed in the parking lot or in automobiles.

Howard Adult Center is a closed campus: Students may not return to their cars for any reason during school hours. Once a student leaves school, he/she may not return until the next school day. Violation of this policy constitutes trespassing, and violators will be dealt with accordingly.

Students are to obey all instructions by teachers/staff members and students must practice patience when waiting for assistance.

Students may not bring duffle bags, back packs, or other large bags/purses into the building.

Clothing worn to schools must be appropriate.  Students’ hats and other headgear must be removed upon entering the building.

Pants are to be worn at the waist. No under garments are to be visible.

Students are not allowed to sell any items at school unless previously approved by staff.

Students are not allowed to bring guests to visit during the school day unless previously approved by staff.

 Student IDs

 Students will be required to wear I.D. badges while at school or on school grounds. I.D.s are to be worn on a lanyard around the neck. 

The replacement fee for a lost student ID is $5.00.

 Possession and/or Use of Alcoholic Beverages, Drugs & Other Substances

Sale, distribution, use or possession of alcoholic beverages, controlled inhalants, illegal drugs, marijuana, or other dangerous substances is not permitted by students in school buildings on school grounds, or at schools functions.  Also, the sale, distribution, or obsessive use of prescriptions, patent or imitation drugs are not permitted.  Violation of this policy may result in immediate removal from the adult education program and activities.

  Prohibited Articles

 Students may not have any articles which may be hazardous to the safety of others. Such articles would include, but not be limited to, pocketknives, multi-tools with knife blades, sharp objects, or weapons of any kind.
